Call for spring/summer volunteers:
The classrooms have started to plant warm season crops in the garden this week and next. A couple of classes got a head start this spring and planted some cool season crops such as potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, peas, and lettuce. The fruit plantings from last year are doing well too. Raspberries have set lots of fruit and some of the strawberries are starting to ripen. The oregano and mint that was planted last year, over wintered well and is ready to begin being harvested.
The weeds in the garden are also doing very well. If you get a chance, please stop by to admire the new plantings and pull some weeds. We will be sending out a volunteer sign up very soon for summer maintenance tasks.
Happy gardening!
